Listen, I know it’s not even technically summer yet, but it’s been 30°C here every day for the past week, so I’m in full-on summer mode.

We’ve broken out the kiddie pool, moved baby J into the basement where it’s cooler, and the ceiling fans are going nonstop. As much as I love being hot and sweaty all day, I wouldn’t say no to some air conditioning right about now!

All this gorgeous weather has me dreaming about freshening up my home with flowers, new plants, and some summer decor. Since we’ll hopefully be moving soon, I’m not about to go out and buy a bunch of new things for this house, but I have made a list of some of the items that have caught my eye recently. Think of this as my summer wishlist for after we’ve moved!

Straw Backpack

I think this straw backpack by Woven Finds Co is so cute. It’s made from palm leaves and the handles are leather, giving it that bright white, summery look. It’s the kind of bag that would look just as good at the beach as it would on a casual bike ride through the streets of a picturesque little town in France. Can’t you just imagine a baguette sticking out the top?

Summer Door Wreath

When we go for walks in our neighbourhood, I’m always a little envious of some of the decor that I see on my neighbours’ front porches. I’ve never been one to dress up my front door too much (because honestly I can barely keep up with the decor inside my house) but lately I’ve been seeing a lot of these summer-themed wreaths and I think they’re so pretty! With this one, I especially like the look of the dark grapevine wreath with the pop of purple in the flowers.

Straw Sun Hat

This straw sun hat is made in Toronto, ON by Panmilli. I love that you can personalize it by choosing the colour and adding your own custom wording. It’s the kind of accessory that would be great for everyday wear, hot holidays, or as a group gift so everyone can match. I first came across these hats on Instagram, and it’s no wonder – they make for some pretty cute travel photos!

They’ve even been so kind as to offer us a discount from now until June 30! Click here and use discount code HAYLEYMYWAA to get 10% off your order.

Druzy Crystal Necklace

These druzy necklaces by Simple Dainty Jewelry are so beautifully understated and delicate. Each necklace has a small druzy crystal pendant, which is a colourful mineral covered in tiny glittering crystals. I think the small size and the simplicity of the design is so pretty, and would compliment any summer look. I’m not a crystal collector and I don’t know much about the different healing properties that they’re supposed to have, but I know that I’d wear these everywhere!

Custom Welcome Mat

Nothing says “welcome to our home” quite like a custom door mat! I love the look of this one by Rustic Hustle Shop. The jute gives it that rustic, farmhouse feel that we all love, and they’ll personalize the wording to your liking. You can use your family name like the one pictured above, or you can opt for something a little different that shows off your family’s personality and sense of humour. Check out their Etsy page here if you want to see some cute ideas!

I could honestly spend an unhealthy amount of time on Etsy browsing for summer decor and accessories. What are some of the summer items you have your eye on this year?

  • I absolutely love that door wreath! It’s beautiful and purple is my favorite color. The hat is a cool idea too! Looks like youll have a blast this summer!

  • Wow, these handmade items looks good on you! It’s actually abundant in my country and so I see it as something mundane. The straw backpack is adorable! Reminds me of woven bags in my parents’ hometown.

  • Anything with straw just yells summer has arrived. I just purchased a new straw hat and love it. That back pack is pretty awesome.
